Frequently Asked Questions

What types of events do you book/can you host?

Pacific Yacht Charters can host private events such as birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings; corporate events such as client appreciations, employee recognition, and networking events. Consider our yacht as the most private meeting space for a board meeting or training session with all the trimmings for meals and beverage service throughout the meeting time.

How many guests can the Pacific Yacht accommodate?

There are three different styles of events that work well on board: a buffet, a plated meal, or a cocktail style event. For buffets and plated meals, we can seat up to 120 guests. For a cocktail style event, we can accommodate up to 240 guests.

The Yacht is also available for a dockside event; meaning the Yacht stays moored at our dock throughout your event in beautiful Coal Harbour, in front of the Westin Bayshore Hotel.  This is an excellent option for an Open House event where people may come and go; perhaps attending another event that is hosted nearby. Throughout a dockside event, we can host upwards of 400 guests, cycling on and off board.

Can the yacht remain dockside instead of cruising?

Yes, we can offer both charter and dockside options. However, as Saturday is the most popular day, we do require all events to be a charter experience.

What is included with a booking?

All our charters have a dedicated Event Planner to organize all event details to ensure your event’s success. In addition, during the event there is an onsite Event Manager, Serving and Bar staff in addition to our Executive Chef, and Galley crew. Our Captain, First Mate and Engineer complete your fully staffed yacht charter.  Our house standards include: gold Chiavari chairs (max 130), house dining tables, fine bone china, crystal glassware, flatware, premium white linens and napkins, cruiser tables with linen, WiFi, wireless microphone, sound system throughout the three decks, and the use of the 55” flat screen Smart TV for your video or slideshows.

What other services do you provide?

Our event planning team can be your one stop planning resource for your menus, entertainment, linens, flowers and other décor elements. We are specialists at customizing events and have a terrific network of reliable vendors.

Will there be other groups on board during our event?

Absolutely not!  The Pacific Yacht is a private luxury yacht that is yours to experience for the time it is booked.

How much does it cost to charter the yacht?

Sunday – Friday: $5995.00 for a minimum 3 hours *please inquire about our weekday rates for under 50 guests

th – March 31st.

Can we bring our own food or beverages?

While we pride ourselves as being a team of ‘yes’ people, unfortunately, we have to say ‘no’ to bringing your own food on board. The exception to this would be a wedding cake, cupcakes or other special occasion cakes.

We are fully licensed with the BC Liquor Control Board and adhere to a comprehensive licensing document. We are permitted, however, to allow a client to supply their own wine or beer, as long as it is not from a U-Brew or homemade.  A corkage fee is charged on all product that is brought on board and served. Please discuss this option with your Event Planner.

Can menus and bar service be customized?

Certainly – we love creating menus that reflect your wishes!  Our Executive Chef would be happy to meet with you to discuss any specific menu requests. Our experienced bar staff can also help create signature cocktails and other specialty drinks to personalize your event.

Do you offer menu tastings?

Absolutely! Please speak with your event planner to discuss the details further.

How do I confirm a charter date?

Once you have chosen your event date, your Pacific Yacht Event Planner will send a contract of Terms and Conditions for your signature. When we receive that document initialed and signed, and a non-refundable deposit of $4000.00, the event date is secure and you can proceed with all other event details and planning.

What hours do you operate?

We can operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our Liquor License, however, requires us to end service of alcoholic drinks at midnight. We do have a Catering Endorsement which, for a fee, allows us to serve alcohol outside our regular licensed hours. This needs to be applied for in advance.

Are there décor restrictions on board?

We like to think the Yacht looks pretty nice as she is, but we understand, particularly for weddings, that you may want to do more. We kindly request that tape, staples, nails or thumbtacks not be used when installing your décor.

Do we have access to the Yacht earlier in the day to do any setup?

Yes. Exact details of this can be worked out with your event planner.

Is there storage on board for my cake, flowers or personal items prior or after my event?

Like most yachts, storage is at a premium.  Please discuss your storage needs with your Event Planner to help come up with a solution. Please arrange to have any items left over to be collected the following day no later than 10:00 am.

Are live bands allowed?

Yes. However, we do have some limitations on both space and power. Please discuss your ideas with your Event Planner prior to booking a band.

Are real candles allowed on board?

Unfortunately, our insurance stipulates that we are not permitted open flame on board.

For a Wedding, can we have a rehearsal with our wedding party and officiate?

Yes, we would welcome you on board a day or two prior to your wedding to hold your rehearsal. Timing would need to fit into other charters that may be booked.

Where do we tell our guests to come? Is there a designated drop-off area? What parking facilities are close by?

The Pacific Yacht is moored directly in front of the West Tower of the Westin Bayshore at the foot of Menchion Mews, a small side street that doubles as the bike lane of the seawall on the West side of the Hotel. Your guests can be dropped off in at the small parking lot at the end of the lane by taxi, limo or coach.

In addition to metered street parking, hourly pay parking is available in three lots in close proximity: indoor parking is available at 1630 and 1675 Bayshore, and outdoor parking is available at 501 Denman Street.  Please advise your guests to allow about 5 minutes walking time from the parking areas to the yacht.
